Angle Frame Non-Scuff Coating Corrugated Pads
A frame pad can be produced in either angle pads or U-pads. This is a pad that has a minimum of two v-shaped cut-outs, to allow the pad to form around the perimeter of the product being protected. This is typically made to form around two corners but can be made to form around as many as five corners. All other angle pad and u-pad parameters will apply in production specification
Angle Frame Super-Soft Tissue Corrugated Pads
Super-Soft is a tissue product laminated by IPC to linerboard. It is primarily used as a non-abrasive coating on our angle pads and u-pads.
Straight Angle Corrugated Pads
IPC straight angle pad s are produced from A-Flute corrugated. Standard thickness would be 3+ (1/2″), 4+ (3/4″) and 5+ nominal (1″). The standard leg lengths would be 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and our nominal 4″ or 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. Leg lengths do NOT need to be the same from one leg to the other. Overall length of the pads can be from 6″ (in a break-away stick of 36″ minimum), to a maximum of 144″. The inside liner can be plain kraft, non-scuff coated or super-soft.
Corrugated Tray with Attached Frame Pads
A corrugated sheet with IPC angle frame pads is attached to form a tray. This is typically used as protection around casegoods in either a carton or stretch wrapped package. These pads can be adjusted for different thicknesses, to accommodate for size difference from top to bottom.
Corrugated U-Pad
The IPC U-Pad is a corrugated protector made in the shape of a U. This pad is also produced from A-Flute corrugated and is typically made in the same thicknesses as the straight angle pad. Minimum center dimension (I.D.) is 3/4″ and minimum leg length is 1 1/2″. The maximum leg length is calculated by combination of thickness and center requirements but can not exceed 6″. Both legs are typically the same lengths but they can be produced with different inside leg lengths. Overall length would be minimum 36″ to maximum of 144″. The inside liner options are the same as the straight angle pad; plain kraft, non-scuff coated or super-soft tissue.
Double-Walled Scored-Glued Corrugated Pads
A-Flute Corrugated Pads (Close Up)
A-Flute corrugated cardboard is a combination of paperboards, typically two flat liners and one inner a-fluted corrugated cardboard.
Flat Corrugated Pad
Corrugated A-flute flat built-up pad is typically 3+ (1/2″), 4+ (3/4″), and 5+ nominal (1″) thick. Width of this part, is a minimum of 2″ to a maximum of 10″. Lengths can be minimum of 6″, provided in master length of 36″ to a maximum of 144″. Inside liner on this part can be: plain kraft, non-scuff coating, or Super-soft tissue.
Corner Angle Pads
These can be also be made with U-Pads. The V-shaped cut-out allows it to be folded into a 90 degree corner. Usually, the cut-out is located at the mid-point of the length of the part, to allow the same protection from the corner. If the application requires non-symmetrical protection, the cut-out can be located anywhere along the pad, as long as a minimum of 4 1/2″ is available on the shortest side.
Corrugated Slotted Build Up Block
All corrugated packaging manufactured by IPC is recyclable. Many of our packaging products are made with paper produced by mills that use recycled fibers. More than half of the paper purchased by IPC for manufacture of our products is made from 100% recycled content.
